Making Fun Of

Every single time, they told me the eggplant I chipped was too big, so I did some closeup observation several times today. They chipped the eggplant exactly the same size as I did. How come they were never satisfied with those I chipped? I guess their pride was on top when they instructed me to make it bigger or smaller. The most satisfying satisfaction lies in telling me no matter what I do, I do it wrong. Including one specifically told me to not cut the kelp too short, the other one curiously asked me if I had trimmed the kelp because it was too long. Yeah, in their mouths, I know nothing, I can't do anything.  Nothing feels better than making fun of me, I know, I know. They are not the first one. Someone even set up a column for making fun of me anonymously. Let's call someone the King Of Jokes. Can't they know that whatever shape, length or width the food has, it will all become dung in the end.

24 Hours

Not long ago, I noticed a grocery store that opened around the clock. For some days in a row, I went there at midnight to shop.  In the past, I was confused why some stores would open for 24 hours, there should be no customers at late night. But I found out I was wrong because many people were in the store when I was there. I guess many people just don't have time to do the the groceries at daytime, especially for those who worked 12 hours everyday. That brief time alone in the store, where nobody knows me, is a precious moment for me to recharge, to wash away all the soreness on my shoulders, waist, so that I can restart the next day.

Epiphany

As the source of life in this beautiful blue planet, water contributes more than 50% of weight to the human body. Naturally, people choose to settle down near water. City clusters were gradually developed along rivers, as well as the worship and mythology associated to rivers. The local river deity heard my monologue, therefore the message was sent to me. The existence of something that can't be seen never feel so real. During the first hour of the new year, started from the frozen river, I walked all the way to the blue church rebuilt not long ago, because the benches in the park nearby were brand new. When I was on the slope next to a red building, a big black dog — half of my height, ran across my right side. When I stopped under two lamps in snow, the same dog ran by me from my right side, to the direction of river. I couldn't help to search the symbolism. I glanced at the two or three words of the definition, I swiftly put my phone back to my pocket. I told myself, it was ...

No Pores

The astounding development of AI has occupied the major news headlines. Amidst the tides of dread, wealth, expectation, explanation, etc, my curiosity prompts me to have a close look into the outcomes. I watched some AI generated short videos and pictures. They look more like 3D animations to me, mainly because of the plastic skin texture, the flawless skin has no pores at all. How come they say the AI can replace the movie industry? Maybe in the long future, but not now. Tech companies, influencers and media work real hard to get attention and money by the exaggeration.  If in the future, bots do the daily chores, AGI completes all the office work, further more, people find solace, relationship, human emotion, delight of flesh in AI, what else can human do to exchange money to survive or climb the social ladder? Will there still be money in the future? Is human's being still necessary? That's still a long way to go, unless the AI can survive without electricity, human can main...

Last Few Drops Of Wax

If these signs insinuate I'm burning the last few drops of wax of my life candle, then, I hope I can go back to my motherland prior to the quench of waning light. Going back myself is easier than carrying some ominous container by anyone. In the not-instantaneous condition, she repeats the name in her mind again and again as her consciousness fades together with a teardrop.

Read And Write

I foresee another month of poverty, for justice's sake.  I did some research in grocery stores, at the bottom of shelves are the cheapest grains that can be mixed with veggies to make a meal relatively nutritious. Meat is not in the budget. Water purifier functions not, drinking clean water is a luxury. I don't want my kidney to filtrate the dirty water that can paint the kettle brown after boiling. As a result, I remain thirsty. I always overestimate the amount of food I can eat, maybe my anxiety for starvation is an overthinking. From the experience of the past few years, I've found the best way to make everyday pass easier is to read, read a lot. In the recent years, I'd add writing as another way to let the time flow without concerns for the physical desires which each human has.  All in all, “read and write” is my solution for the life stuck in poverty. To forget the empty stomach and droughty throat.
